4) Composition

Each 100 ml contains:

Sodium fluoride        44    mg

Cetrimide                  0.25 mg

Lignocaine                0.1   gm

5) Pharmaceutical formOral topical solution (Mouth wash)

6) Pharmacological actions:

Minaflour (Mouth wash) new area in treating both hypersensitive teeth and gingival inflammation through its components. Sodium fluoride has a great value in treating hypersensitive roots, teeth and erosive lesion through replacement of the hydroxy group of the hydroxy apatite forming flouro apatite which is more resistant to acid and development of caries. It also promotes remineralization of decalcified enamel and interferes with growth and development of dental plaque bacteria.

Cetrimide is quaternary ammonium with dual antiseptic and detergent action. It has a great bactericidal activity against some viruses. It has a relative prolonged action in the oral activity. Lignocaine acts as local anaesthetic.

Minaflour is alcohol free and sugar free

Hypersensitive teeth

Exposed roots

Erosive lesions

Gingivitis and peritonitis

Stomatitis

9) Dosage and Administration:

Children: 1 teaspoonful 3-4 times daily, used as gargle or rinsing and kept for one minute or longer before spitting.

Adults: 1 tablespoonful 3-4 times daily, used as gargle or rinsing and kept for one minute or longer before spitting.

For optimizing the action, gargle after meals is preferable. It can be diluted on a coffee cupful of water or as prescribed.

Yellowish-brown discoloration rarely may occur if recommended doses are exceeded.

Absorption of fluorides reduced by calcium salts
